John Ellis Water Machine – Frequently Asked Questions
How does the John Ellis machine help reduce contaminants?
The John Ellis Machine uses a patented distillation-based process involving rapid heating and cooling cycles combined with UV light purification technology. Distillation is commonly used to separate water from many dissolved solids and contaminants, while UV purification helps support a cleaner water purification process.
What is distilled water?
Distilled water is water that has been heated into steam and then cooled back into liquid form. This process helps separate water from many minerals, dissolved solids, and other impurities.
How does steam distillation work?
Steam distillation works by heating water until it becomes steam, then cooling the steam so it condenses back into purified water. Many unwanted materials remain behind during this process.
What is TDS in water?
TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids. It measures the amount of dissolved minerals, salts, metals, and other substances present in water.
What is the 113.8° hydrogen bond angle?
The John Ellis LWM-5 machine is associated with water structuring concepts related to hydrogen bond angle changes. This topic is part of the company’s proprietary water technology and ongoing customer interest.
Does the John Ellis machine remove deuterium?
The John Ellis machine uses a proprietary distillation and purification process. For specific deuterium-related testing information, customers should contact John Ellis Water directly.
What is the difference between the E4 and E5 machines?
The E5 Machine includes two UV lights and a stronger transformer, while the E4 Machine includes one UV light. We have discontinued the E4 Machine.
Do you provide free samples of your water?
Yes. John Ellis Water offers a 1 oz sample by request. Call 845-754-8696 Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm EST.
How much electricity does the machine use?
When operating, the machine uses roughly the same amount of electricity as a standard household coffee maker.
Does the machine require a filter change?
The John Ellis machine is not a standard carbon filter system. It uses a distillation-based process, so there are no traditional carbon filters to replace. Periodic cleaning is recommended to help prevent mineral buildup.
How do I install or hook up the machine?
The machine hooks up directly to your faucet. Setup instructions are included with the machine, and customers can also
watch the setup video on YouTube (opens in a new tab).
How can I request a John Ellis Water sample?
To request a sample, call John Ellis Water at 845-754-8696 Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm EST.
Can I order from Canada or outside the US?
Yes. We ship to addresses in the United States only, but many customers in Canada and other countries order through a package-forwarding service such as MyUS (myus.com).
Here’s how it works:
- Sign up with a forwarding service. They give you a personal US shipping address.
- Order the machine on our website or by phone, and enter that US address as the shipping address.
- We ship the machine to the forwarding service, and they send it on to you.
Our standard US shipping charge applies to the forwarding address. The forwarding service charges separately for delivery to your country, plus any duties or import taxes. The machine ships in a 14″ x 14″ x 19″ box weighing about 14 lbs, so you can get a quote from them before you order.
Canada uses the same household power as the US. If you live outside North America, or have questions about warranty service from outside the US, please call us before ordering at 845-754-8696 Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm EST. We’re happy to walk you through it.
We are not affiliated with MyUS or any other forwarding service.
