The largest “wannabe” buyer was the Republic of China, which offered to buy John Ellis out, but had to settle for buying a lease in Asia. However, the story of Dole Foods is perhaps the most fascinating application of John Ellis Purified-Distilled Water in agriculture.
Solving the Banana Mold Crisis
Dole Foods purchased several cases (weighing approximately a ton and a half) of John Ellis Water to address a devastating mold spore infestation. Their Florida-grown banana plants, destined for Honduras via Gulfport, were being ravaged by Anthracnose—a fungal disease caused by the genus Colletotrichum.
Hoping for a miracle, Dole commenced spraying the infected groves with John Ellis Water. It worked so well that Dole immediately stopped spraying, demanding to know what kind of “insecticide” was hidden in the water. John Ellis’s answer was simple: It’s only water.
The Science They Couldn’t See
Skeptical, Dole technicians tested the solution. They found nothing but water. What they lacked was the specialized equipment to gauge the unique hydrogen and oxygen bond angles that set John Ellis Water apart.
Dole resumed spraying, amazed that “just water” could eradicate the Anthracnose pathogen within hours. The results were so undeniable that Dole immediately attempted to purchase the patent rights. Of course, the patents were—and are—not for sale.
